Scott Carney is an award-winning investigative journalist and the author of six books including the New York Times bestselling What Doesn’t Kill Us. His other publications include The Red Market, The Enlightenment Trap, The Wedge, The Vortex, and Dream (coming January 2024).
Carney was a contributing editor at Wired for five years and his writing also appears in Mother Jones, Men’s Journal, Playboy, Foreign Policy, Discover, Outside and Fast Company. He currently lives in Denver.

Laura Krantz
Laura Krantz is a seasoned journalist, editor and producer, in both audio and print. Her independent podcast Wild Thing received critical acclaim, reached the top of Apple’s charts, and served as the inspiration for a series of non-fiction, middle-grade books from ABRAMS Kids.
Krantz’s portfolio includes reporting, editing, and production work on multiple podcasts. Her prior experience involved a decade of editing and producing at NPR HQ in DC, and at KPCC in Los Angeles.
